The Voice of The People is an installation which incorporates projections, live vocals and sound. The installation was featured in the "Re-Sounding Turmoil" event as part of the Art On the Hill festival Newport. The project, which was in collaboration with OperaSonic, was based around the 1839 chartist rebellion. The soundscape and projections are made from field recordings/video that was taken during the annual "Newport rising" torch lit march. Ella created the original Artwork and illustrations which feature in the projections.
The work begins to frame Newport’s history with events that are impacting today’s political climate. In our current society, the “voice” of the public is even stronger than ever.
